The Yogi's Sacrifice
A spontaneous piece that arose when contemplating the double-edged sword that is the intellectual mind. (April, 2020).
Devoid of any scholarly pretence The Yogi treads naked Along the tightrope Putting His life on the line For you, O learned one.
Unqualified to preach scripture, Undignified for refined debate, But scholar, poring over your tomes, Year after year, day after day, Tell me, are you free yet?
Latin, Sanskrit, Greek, Hebrew, How glorious is your tongue, To speak of the Divine, In so many flavours, Tell me, what does freedom taste like?
The Yogi knows only one tongue, Which speaks of love alone, And tastes like nectar, He is the scripture, And the star of freedom, But for you He waits, In this bodily cage.
