The Ocean's Call
There is a lot of poetry about the devotee longing for or calling to the Divine. As a reversal, this poem intimately views the Divine as a doting parent longing for their child's return (Jan, 2025)
Why, little wave, Do you wish to part With My ocean heart Whence you came?
Lonesome, headstrong, You seek to move on From My sight, far beyond Never to tarry for long
Exuberant, proud, Thrust your silvery manes Jolting past watery planes Why don’t you turn again?
My little wave! You can’t hear My call This roar falls too small Drowned, to the abyss in thrall Where you did fall
Patient, watchful, I beheld your repose These tears undisclosed Saline memory but knows How I wish for you close
Slumbering child, Yet again you arise Glimmer hope in My eyes Shall I shed this disguise?
Steady, graceful, A more thoughtful patter Froth and turmoil to shatter You tire of this matter
Come little wave, Even I’m at your feet When your love is complete As One, our hearts meet
Peace, stillness, In My soothing embrace Mayic tides no more face Rest eternal in grace.
